Managing your password with Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

To change your Password: arul.ink/passwordchange
To setup your Password Recovery details: arul.ink/passwordsetup
For forgotten or expired Passwords: arul.ink/passwordrecovery

Software Description & Features

Our Self-Service Password services are used to change your password, register account recovery contact details and lastly recover and reset your Anglia Ruskin password.

As part of your ARU account you will be given a password. You will be required to change this password regularly.

You will also be required to register either a personal telephone number or email address with our self-service password reset service so that you can recover your account and reset your password should you forget it or if it has expired.

Using this software

These password services are available to all Students and Staff of Anglia Ruskin Unversity.

Change your current password

You must know your existing password to use this service

  1. Go arul.ink/passwordchange
  2. Log in using your ARU Full Username. Full Usernames are made up of your anglia short username e.g. abc123, followed by the institution you belong to e.g. anglia.ac.uk. e.g. A full Student username should look like: abc123@student.anglia.ac.uk and a full Staff username should look like: abc123@anglia.ac.uk
  3. Enter your Anglia Ruskin password.
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Enter a new password
  6. Confirm your new password
  7. Click Submit

Setup your password recovery contact details for your account with Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

You must know your existing password to use this service

  1. Go arul.ink/passwordsetup
  2. Log in using your ARU Full Username. Full Usernames are made up of your anglia short username e.g. abc123, followed by the institution you belong to e.g. anglia.ac.uk. e.g. A full Student username should look like: abc123@student.anglia.ac.uk and a full Staff username should look like: abc123@anglia.ac.uk
  3. Enter your Anglia Ruskin password.
  4. You will need to set up an alternative telephone contact number and/or an alternative email address.
  5. Select Authentication Phone is not configured - Set it up now
  6. Enter in an alternative telephone number. You will need to make sure you have access to this number to receive a call or text.
  7. Select text me or call me
  8. You will receive either a phone call or text message. If you receive a text with a verification code, please enter this code in to the code box and click Verify.
  9. Now set up an altenative email contact, click Authentication email is no configured - Set it up now
  10. Enter in an alternative email, you must have access to this email account. Do not use your Anglia Ruskin email address.
  11. Click email me
  12. You will recieve a verification code to your email address
  13. Enter your code in to the verification box and click Verify
  14. You have now completed your recovery contact information set up. Click Finish

Recover and reset your password if you have forgotten it

You must have previously registered your password recovery contact details with SSPR

  1. Go arul.ink/passwordrecovery
  2. Enter your ARU Full Username. Full Usernames are made up of your anglia short username e.g. abc123, followed by the institution you belong to e.g. anglia.ac.uk. e.g. A full Student username should look like: abc123@student.anglia.ac.uk and a full Staff username should look like: abc123@anglia.ac.uk
  3. Enter the characters shown in the picture or the words in the audio in to the box
  4. Click Next
  5. Select your chosen contact method that will be used to verify you are the account holder
  6. You will receive a verification code to your chosen contact method.
  7. Enter this in to the box when prompted and click Next
  8. Enter a new password and confirm that password
  9. Click Finish

Existing students or staff who have previously registered with Password Manager

If you have forgotten your password and have previously registered with our exisiting password manager system then you can reset your password by logging in to arul.ink/password.

Once you have reset your password we would advise that you register with our new Self-Service Password reset service at arul.ink/passwordsetup so that you can easily recover your password should you forget it in future.

Please be aware that our Self-Service Password Reset service (SSPR) will be replacing our existing Password Manager service in the near future.

I have forgotten my password and i'm not registered with either Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) or Password Manager?
