Facilities helpdesk

The helpdesk takes your requests for maintenance, porterage or cleaning. We also book car parking spaces, and in Chelmsford we issue parking permits. We are also the first point of contact for any comments or complaints you have on any of our Estates and Facilities Services.

The jobs that we can do for you relate to cleaning, classroom set ups, recycling, waste removal, lifts, heating, ventilation, carpentry, plumbing, electrics, grounds, glazing, painting, signage, keys and more.

We are open 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.30pm Friday. Outside these hours, you can leave us a voicemail and we will attend to your message the following working day. For out of hours emergencies, contact Security who can call out relevant staff or engineers.

What details will you need to provide?

  • Contact details: name, telephone number and email address.
  • Location of the problem: campus, building, floor and room number if applicable.
  • Details of the problem or request.

What happens next?

  • If you have given us an email address you will receive an acknowledgment email with a job reference number. If you have any questions, please contact us with this number.
  • Your request is prioritised using the information you have given and passed to the appropriate team.

How will you know the work has been done?

You will receive an email and a link to a customer satisfaction questionnaire. We do appreciate your feedback as it helps us to maintain a high level of service.
