Car parking rules in Chelmsford

Parking permits

In order to park in one of our car parks you must display a valid parking permit in your vehicle.

Permits are allocated to an individual staff member and are not transferable to other members of staff, students or visitors.

Any vehicle that you bring onto campus must be registered with Estates & Facilities Services (ext: 6464 or email: ). If you change your vehicle please advise the helpdesk.

Parking is not permitted on the Rivermead Industrial Estate other than for loading and unloading at Digital Copy Services.

Parking charges

Car park charges are payable in all of our car parks. The tariffs are displayed in each car park and are also available online.

Short stay parking for less than 30 minutes is free and your ticket does not need to be validated at a pay station to exit.

In all other circumstances, you must visit the pay station to pay the correct fee and validate your ticket to exit.

If you enter the car park after 4.30pm, when a charge is not payable, you must retain your ticket to exit.

Visitor parking PIN codes

Visitors and staff who are based at our other campuses are able to book visitor parking at Chelmsford via the Estates & Facilities Services helpdesk.

The PIN code allocated for entry and exit is for the visitor's use only and unauthorised use is not allowed.

Please note that any breach of the rules above will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
