Cambridge Quiet Room

The Quiet Room, MUM110, opposite the Medical Centre, is available for anyone to use when not occupied by a group (please see the timetable posted beside the door). Please use this room for personal reflection and such like at any time when it is not in use by groups. Please leave requests for prayer by filling in one of the cards on the table inside the room.

There are various books that may be borrowed. If you do borrow a book, please leave a sheet of paper where the book was with your name and contact detail on it. Please return books within four weeks of borrowing them.

Groups who wish to use the room should book this with the University Chaplain, Nigel Cooper, 07860 407721, University Chaplain, HEL103. Please contact him about any other matter as well.

The Muslim Prayer Room is MUM020, the room down the passage and on the right. There are wudu facilities for both men and women inside.

Quiet Room Rules

Our University is pleased to provide on some of its campuses general quiet rooms and prayer rooms. These are provided at our university’s discretion for use by its students and staff for the observance of religious practices and non-religious reflection. The rooms are under the management, in the first instance, of the university chaplains.

If there are any questions over the rooms, our university’s senior management will make the final decisions, but they may consult the university’s Chaplaincy Council. Detailed rules for the use of the quiet and prayer rooms are drawn up by the chaplains after consultation with senior management and the Chaplaincy Council.
