Welcome to Anglia Ruskin University. Registering with us is simple.

The first stage of registration is completed online. You will be sent your password and username before your induction day. If you haven’t received it please contact us.

Please complete the online registration by visiting before arriving at our University. All sections must be fully completed.

You will pick up your Student ID card from us on or before your induction day. Home/EU students need to bring their passport, national ID card or birth certificate to prove your right to study.

International Students must bring their CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) letter and original certificates stated under ‘Evidence Required’. 60% of your fees must be paid before we can issue you with a Student ID card. We will also need to scan your current passport. If you have already been issued a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) please bring that too. If you have arranged to have a new BRP delivered to the University you can pick it up from the iCentre after the date stated on your Home Office letter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Student Finance are paying my loan but the finance page does not show this

If you have applied for a loan (such as Student Finance) and it doesn’t appear or is not showing the correct amount please press the ‘Student Finance funded’ button and follow the instructions. You will be asked to provide your Student Support Number (SSN). This is made up of 13 characters consisting of 4 letters, 8 numbers then 1 letter (e.g. SFDU12345678L) and can be found in your correspondence from Student Finance on the ‘University or College Payment Advice’ letter. It’s usually located next to a barcode on the paperwork.

If you can’t find your SSN Number, click no and you will be able to enter you Customer Reference Number (CRN) Number. This is made up of 11 numbers (e.g. 12345612345) and can be found in your correspondence from Student Finance.

I haven’t been sent my Anglia Ruskin username or password

Your username and password would have been sent in a welcome email to the email address you specified. Your Anglia Ruskin University username will be in the format abc213 and your default password is your date of birth in the format DDMMYY.

My home address is the same as my contact address

Home and EU students can use the same address if it is the same both in and outside of term time. If you are an international student you must use your address in your home country in the ‘home address’ section and your term-time address in the ‘contact address’ section.

One or more of my tiles is yellow and I am unable to complete registration

This means that you have raised a query about one or more parts of your registration. Once actioned by the relevant department this will change to green.

My telephone number is showing as invalid

Please ensure that you are using numbers only, without any spaces or symbols.

My personal details are incorrect

Take a note of the mistake and speak to the iCentre when you arrive on campus and we can change this for you. We will need to see some official ID such as a Birth Certificate or Passport to make any changes.

I have raised a query, when will I receive a reply?

You will receive a reply within 5 working days. Speak to the iCentre before raising a query as this could slow down your registration.
