Academic Life

Develop your academic abilities by improving your referencing, exam, writing, discussion and studying skills. We have many resources available for you get the most of out of your studies and to plan for your success during and after you graduate. We’ll help you understand our academic regulations and registration. We'll make sure you know where to go to hand in your work, where to go if you have a question, and how you can collect your student ID card.

Study Skills Plus

Study Skills Plus provides you with activities and resources to help you improve your academic skills – including researching, writing, referencing and lots more. We offer:

  • Access online study skills guides and tutorials
  • Choose from a programme of workshops and drop ins
  • Book in for one-to-one study coaching.


Student Advice Service

If you’d like advice and guidance on your studies, speak to your Student Advisers. We'll help you understand our University's modular system, rules and regulations, and deadlines. We can also refer you to other specialist advisers in the Student Services to talk about non-academic issues. We'll help with:

  • Understanding university rules and regulations
  • Academic support and guidance
  • One-to-one drop ins.
