Course Leaders Extra Curricular Fund

What is the Course Leaders Extra Curricular Fund?

The fund is designed to enable and encourage additional, optional activities to add value to the student experience. You can bid for up to £500 per course, or £750 if the activity is designed to increase student retention.

Funds should be used for extra curricular events that will help increase and maintain levels of student satisfaction and aid retention, as well as actively support developing positive graduate outcomes for students.

What type of events will be funded?

A range of events can be funded you are encouraged to be creative!

We want activities which add value to students. These include but are not limited to: module or course specific events e.g. invited external speakers, museum or factory trips; group volunteering, events which are indirectly relevant to a range of courses e.g. trip to a trade fair, subject-themed quiz night; events which are mainly social but are designed to build course, departmental or faculty belonging.

We strongly encourage liaison with student-led Course Societies to ensure a well-rounded bid. The money can be used to fund the event in whole or in part.

How can I apply for funds?

This year the fund opened on the 5th of September 2017, and will close on the 30th June 2018.
