Participants needed: The effect of nutritional supplements on fat burning during exercise

Justin Roberts - April 1st, 12:02

We are looking for female participants to take part in our forthcoming study investigating the effect of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) - a commercially available nutritional supplement proposed to increase weight loss.

Study Aims: the aim of this study will be to investigate the impact of taking a daily CLA supplement as a drink, alongside regular exercise over a 6 week period on individual fat burning potential and weight loss.

The study will take place between April and June and involve coming into the sport and exercise laboratories at Compass House, East Road for exercise testing on a bike at baseline, week 3 and week 6 of the study. You will be randomly assigned to one of three groups; CLA supplement, placebo or control across the 6 week period.

Benefits of the testing: regular fitness and nutrition monitoring, body composition measurements and assessment of the effect of dietary supplements on individual fat burning potential. Also a great way to get fit for the summer.
