Service description and features

Adobe Creative Cloud suite provides Staff and Students with a suite of popular software products including: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, Dreamweaver, Flash Pro etc. (over 25 products in all).
This software is available as part of a new 3 year agreement which enables us to provide this specialist software to all colleagues and students of Anglia Ruskin University.

Using this software

This software can be used by all staff and students of Anglia Ruskin University. This software is available for deployment on any Anglia Ruskin owned device. This software has associated Policies of use that you may need to read if you are using this software..

Students

The full Adobe Creative Cloud suite is installed on many Thick Client PCs and Apple iMacs, across our campuses, and in most of our specialist Teaching Labs.

  • Once logged in, select Start
  • Select All programs
  • Adobe Creative Cloud will be listed under Adobe

Staff

Staff can access the “Design standard” bundle by going to Advertised Programs or your Support Center (see further details below of what is contained within this bundle)

If you wish to have the full Creative Cloud software deployed to your work device, you will need to submit a request to the Customer Support Team.

Once installed, the software can be accessed via the Start menu on your PC or Work Laptop.

  • Once logged in, select Start
  • Select All programs
  • Adobe Creative Cloud will be listedunder Adobe

Current staff are eligible to download a copy of Adobe Creative Cloud for home use. Please follow the Home Installation instructions (.pdf) to install this on to your home device.

Adobe Photoshop CC

Photoshop is digital imaging tool which allows users to create images, designs, videos and 3D models. Photoshop lets designers manipulate their images and graphics and 3D prinitng capabilities to bring images to life.

Target users: All photography and media related staff and students.

Adobe Bridge CC

Bridge is a media asset management service that gives users centralised assess to all their creative products.

Target users: All media staff and students.

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

This application allows users to create PDF documents, edit PDF documents (and edit images) and export PDF files to other formats, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Target users: Suitable for all staff and students.

Adobe Illustrator CC

Illustrator is used to produce scalable artwork for print and web. This software is great for free-hand drawing and illustrations, tracing scanned artwork and creating websites, graphics and logos for digital or print media.

Target users: Media and graphic design staff and students.

Adobe InDesign CC

InDesign in a desktop publishing application that can be used to design and produce printed media such as posters, flyers, magazines and brochures.

Target Users: Media and graphic design staff and students.

Adobe Dreamweaver CC

Dreamweaver is a tool used to create websites and supports technologies such as CSS and JavaScript. This applications gives the user the option to design in a Design view or in a Code editor.

Premiere Pro is a video editing application that allows users to edit, manipulate and export their video projects.

Adobe After-Effects CC

After-Effects is a tool for video composition, motion graphic design and animation. Used to produce 2D and 3D animations.

Adobe Flash Professional CC

Flash is an authoring and production tool for producing interactive websites, games, and premium video experiences either for desktops or mobile device packaging.

The Design Standard packages bundle

Staff are also able to download a package of the below products from the Adobe suite in one bundle. This is currently only available for thick client PC's. You can access this bundle by going to Advertised Programs or your Support Center. The package is around 7Gb large, and typically takes around an hour to download.

Is this software available for MACs?

Software is available for both MAC and PC, as well as some applications for mobile devices. The full list changes from time to time at Adobe's discretion so you are advised to check the Adobe Creative Cloud web site.

What do I do if I have a problem on the Adobe CC website?

ARU CST on 4357 will use best endeavours to help, but the responsibility lies ultimately with you and Adobe.

Am I held responsible for abiding by the Adobe CC licence terms?

Yes, and this is important. The licence for use of the Adobe CC applications is solely between you and Adobe.

Am I eligible to download a copy of Adobe Creative Cloud work from home?

Staff are eligible to download Adobe Creative Cloud at home for free. This includes Associate lecturers/ hourly paid lecturers but does not include contractors or retired staff. This also includes Post Graduate Researchers with "@pgr.anglia.ac.uk" email addresses.
