Dependants

For useful information for Tier 4 students on bringing family to the UK, please see:

UKCISA Guide for Tier 4 Family

If you have dependants who are already in the UK with you and who need to extend their visa at the same time as you, their details will each need to be added when you complete the UKVI's online application.

Note that when the form asks for the 'main applicant's' details, you (the student) are the main applicant.

If your dependants apply at the same time as you submit your Tier 4 extension application to the UKVI, then the postal application fee for each dependant is £457.

Financial requirements:

Each dependant will need to show that they meet the maintenance requirements. The money can be held by the dependant or by yourself.

From 12th November 2015, the amount required is £6120 for each dependant (based on a student studying for more than 9 months, outside London).

This money must have been in the bank account for a minimum period of 28 days, and that 28 day period must not have ended more than a month before they apply.

For further information about the financial requirements, please see the following UKCISA website:

http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information--Advice/Visas-and-Immigration/Dependants#layer-3369

We also recommend that you read the UKVI online information for Tier 4 dependents, which can be accessed by clicking here.
