What is IMPACT ?

Student feedback in response to the Anglia Ruskin survey's on Recruitment & Retention and Disabled Students has informed us of a number of key things we can do to help students participate.

This has lead us to design a campaign to support inclusive practice in the curriculum which we have organised under the accronym IMPACT. Each letter of IMPACT stands for a different aspect of inclusive practice:

  • Inclusion. General information and resources on the benefits of inclusive practice.
  • Materials. Tips and resources to assist you in making your teaching materials accessible to all.
  • Planning. Practical suggestions to help you in planning an inclusive teaching session.
  • Assessment. Advice and resources to enable you to design flexible, inclusive assessments.
  • Communication. Practical advice on a range of communication issues.
  • The Classroom. Create an environment where all students are able to fully participate.

IMPACT will continue as a theme through a number of initiatives including classroom posters, teaching resources and events.
