Physical activity

Physical activity can be an important part of improving your physical and mental health. For example it can reduce the risk of diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and muscle and joint problems. It can also reduce the symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety and improve self esteem.

You can increase your physical activity by walking or cycling to work. If your need more information about cycling to work or our staff cyclescheme please visit our cycling travel webpage.

Our Sport and Active Anglia team offer a variety of Studio Classes  including Yoga, Boxercise, Zumba and Pilates and an opportunity to try different Campus Sport sessions on a turn up and play basis. They also offer bookable outdoor activities such as Mountain Biking and Canoeing and as well as lunchtime health walks. You can also get fit for less by taking up a Gym and/or swimming membership. For further information please visit www.anglia.ac.uk/sport.

You can monitor all of your sport and physical activity online to receive points and points make prizes! Click on Active Essex Workplace Challenge or Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Workplace Challenge to find out more.
