Retirement: Opportunity & Choice

More info: Retirement – it’s Your Choice! The R word has been a hot topic since the Government decided to encourage us to forget the traditional retirement age. But whether sooner or later, the P word – planning – is equally important as this third phase is where you set the agenda.

Loss of status, concern about finances and lifestyle can blight the prospect of this most rewarding phase of life. Many, unable to face up to this major life change, impose unnecessary stress and delay the benefits earned from a long career.

Those living alone will have to face the loss of daily work-related meeting and greeting. If married or partnered your retirement impacts on their established routine which is often based on your absence. Often unvoiced are their concerns for your acceptance of a new life style. Adjustments will need to be made.

Retirement is about making choices and with changing legislation this may include developing a broad portfolio which can include generating income. Retirement is a new beginning – the opportunity to write your own agenda to meet new challenges. Retirement is for living!
