Procedures for organising a conference or event on campus

When booking a room for a non-teaching event there are a set of procedures to be followed.

You can find general information to assist you in organising your event, such as room photos and floor plans, in the Event Organisers Toolkit (Link only works in Internet Explorer).

Why do I need to input my conference/non-teaching event onto the Events calendar on My.Anglia?

It is important to fill this out, as it means reception and security know what is happening on campus. Without this information reception will not be able to assist any delegates or visitors and direct them to the right place, and calls coming through from the switchboard may be difficult to direct to the right person.

Can I use the open space or communal areas on both Campuses?

There are a number of open space areas which you can use for stalls, exhibitions or catering, but they must be pre-booked with The Conferences Team. Please email your requirements to conferences@anglia.ac.uk and they will check availability and come back to you.

Please note - the following areas are booked by room bookings:

Cambridge: sofa area outside LAB111-113 and the area outside YST 218

Chelmsford: MAB Mezzanine and SAL foyer

Can I put up signage?

Any temporary signage must be displayed with consideration and using only white tack - you must ensure that at the end of the event all temporary signage is removed.

Can I get any help in organising a conference?

The Conferences Team are happy to advise you on the organisation of your event/conference. Please either call 01245 683163 or e-mail conferences@anglia.ac.uk to discuss your requirements.

Can external organisations hold events at Anglia Ruskin?

Yes. A room hire charge will apply for external event bookings. Bookings can be made by contacting conferences@anglia.ac.uk or calling 01245 683163. Further information can be found at www.anglia.ac.uk/conferences.
