Construction of our Postgraduate Medical Institute has now commenced and the number of car parking spaces available at Chelmsford reduced to 550 spaces only. Rivermead campus has up to 5,000 students and staff attending on any given day and we strongly advise all who travel by car and currently park on campus to investigate alternative means of transport. Anglia Ruskin University is committed to creating a sustainable campus and we are increasingly engaged in projects and activities which support the global carbon reduction agenda. In line with this commitment we have an overarching strategy to reduce car travel to campus and will NOT be issuing parking permits to new students or staff joining us from 1st September 2010 onwards. Parking for new students holding blue and red badges will be provided, subject to availability.
During the early part of the academic year work started on the new junction which will link Rivermead campus with the Chelmer Valley Road, (A1016/A138). This work has slowed traffic flow on the Chelmer Valley Road and will continue until the end of May 2010. Again, we advise car drivers who park at Rivermead campus to investigate and take alternative means of transport wherever possible.

There is no car parking at our Cambridge East Road campus except for blue badge holders. We do have a few spaces for staff who are required to work cross campus, but the number available is reduced due to the current redevelopment.
