Cleaning and maintenance

Our Facilities services team ensure the campus buildings are maintained and managed for your benefit. We maintain the building fabric and services to provide an attractive and functional environment for teaching and learning. This includes cleaning of the interior and exterior of the buildings as well as landscaping of the campuses.

We are responsible for room set ups for all teaching and events through our Facilities operatives team.

You can contact any of these teams to make requests or complaints or obtain further information on their services through the Facilities helpdesk link.

What cleaning can I expect in my building?

All of our campuses are cleaned by external contractors. Please click on the links below to see what cleaning standards we work to and when you can expect cleaning to take place.

We also have a full cleaning specification for you to look at.

How do we keep the buildings in good condition?

We use an in-house maintenance team and external contractors to repair or replace any part of the building that needs fixing. If you need to report a problem please go to Estates Online.

What do the landscaping contractors do?

They are responsible for maintaining the grass areas, removing weeds, surveying and pruning the trees and improving the planting. They will also maintain the green roof and green walls.

What else do the Facilities operatives do?

The Facilities operatives carry out all porterage tasks such as receipt and delivery of post and parcels, movement of all material around campus as well as ensuring all teaching spaces are set up correctly. They play a valuable role in ensuring all external events are set up to run smoothly. If you need their help please contact Facilities helpdesk.

What is being done to reduce the environmental impact of Anglia Ruskin's buildings?

The sustainability team are working on improving a range of technical issues to reduce our impact on the environment. This includes making changes to the heating and lighting controls, installing new low energy lights and ensuring our equipment is running at optimum efficiency. You can follow progress on our energy dashboard.
