Submitting your assignments

Handins

Submitting your assignment via Turnitin?

Is there a deadline for submitting work?

The deadline time for all assignments is 2.00pm on the due date. Please plan ahead to avoid handing your work in at the last minute. Of course, you can always hand your work in earlier! Submissions up to 5 days late will result in a capped mark of 40% for the relevant piece of work. We suggest that you only submit work late if you have no other option.

What is the process for submitting work late?

You can find out how to submit late by reading the information found on our Faculty Student Advice Services 'Managing your assignment deadlines' webpage. If you're submitting work late that should have been submitted through Turnitin, visit the late submission page and follow the instructions.

Can I submit my work more than once?

When you have submitted your work you cannot subsequently amend it nor replace it with another version. This applies to all methods of submission, through the iCentres or electronically.

Is there a restriction on the assignment size that we are allowed to submit?

Yes there is. To reduce the risk of damage to large submissions such as pieces of art work and large portfolios, our iCentres only accept work which is of A4 size or smaller. Your Module Leader will inform you of the arrangements for large submissions.

What if I cannot make the deadline?

You must contact your Faculty Student Adviser if you think you cannot make the deadline.

Do I need to submit anything else with my piece of work?

You will need to submit a coversheet and a receipt with your assignment. The bar-coded coversheet contains details about your piece of work you are submitting and is unique to you. It allows iCentre staff to log your submission. You are required to manually complete the marker's name and the total word-count on your coversheet and receipt.

How do I print off my unique coversheet and receipt?

  1. Log into e:Vision with your Anglia Ruskin username and password
  2. Click on the Studies tile and then Coversheets.
  3. You will now be directed to a page that will list all of the modules you are taking this semester and their elements. Next to each module element you will have the wording Coversheet, click on this to view and print your coversheet and receipt.

Can I submit by post?

Yes, but you must ensure that you post your work to the appropriate iCentre. Please visit our openings and locations page for a list of iCentre addresses. Your work MUST arrive on or before the deadline date and time and be accompanied by your bar-coded coversheet and a completed receipt. We advise that you send your work via a registered/recorded mail service.

How do you inform the Academics my work is ready for collection?

Once the due date has passed, and all submissions have been logged on the University system, the iCentre staff will notify the Module Lecturer/ Module Tutor that the submissions are ready for collection.

If you have any questions about the above procedures please contact a member of the iCentre team by emailing: iCentre@anglia.ac.uk.
