Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I… SUBMIT MY ASSIGNMENTS?

Assignments are normally submitted DIRECT to your nearest iCentre, unless you are instructed otherwise by your Faculty. There are local arrangements for students in our collaborative partner colleges

1. Is there an iCentre situated at each campus?

Yes, there is an iCentre based at each main campus and the offices are identifiable with the above logo.

Located at:

  • Cambridge - Lord Ashcroft Building 018
  • Chelmsford - Marconi building 007
  • Fulbourn - Victoria House

2. What are the opening hours for the iCentres?

The normal opening hours are from 8:30 to 17:00.

3. Is there a deadline for submitting work?

The deadline time for all assignments is 17:00 hrs on the due date.  Our iCentres cannot accept work after the deadline and the penalty for late submission is a zero mark so please avoid handing your work in at the last minute.  Of course, you can always hand your work in earlier!

4. Is there a restriction on the assignment size that we are allowed to submit?

Yes there is.  To reduce the risk of damage to large submissions such as pieces of art work and large portfolios, our iCentres only accept work which is of A4 size or smaller.  Your Module Leader will inform you of the arrangements for large submissions.

5. What if I cannot make the deadline?

You must contact your Faculty Student Adviser if you think you cannot make the deadline.

6. Do I need to submit anything else with my piece of work?

You will need to submit a coversheet and a receipt with your assignment.
The bar-coded coversheet contains details about your piece of work you are submitting and is unique to you. It allows iCentre staff to log your submission.
You are required to manually complete the marker's name and the total word-count on your coversheet.

7. How do I print off my unique coversheet?

  • Log into E-vision via the internet website https://e-vision.anglia.ac.uk.  If you are unsure how to log onto E-vision, please visit http://web.anglia.ac.uk/anet/students/induction/ for instructions.
  • Select the course you are registered on.  (If you have only ever been registered on one course you will be directed into E-vision without this step)
  • On the left hand menu, click on the ‘Student’ button.
  • On this page there is a link on the bottom right hand side called   ‘Assignment Coversheets’, click on this.
  • You will now be directed to a page that will list all of the modules you are taking this semester and their elements.  Next to each module element you will have the wording ‘Coversheet’, click on this to view and print your cover sheet.
  • If there is no coversheet listed for the module/element you are submitting you should click on the link at the top of the page ‘Having problems with your coversheet?’ and it will direct you some Frequently Asked Questions.  In this section there is a link which allows you to print a blank coversheet.
  • Once you have printed your coversheet, click on the green back button at the top left of your screen to get back to the list of modules.
  • If you are unable to print a coversheet, for technical or other reasons, please do not panic!

Speak to a member of the iCentre team BEFORE the 5pm deadline and they will be happy to help you.

8. Do I get any proof that I have submitted my work?

A manual carbon copy receipt must be completed before submitting your submission to the iCentre.

Receipts can be collected in advance from the iCentre or electronic versions can be obtained by emailing the relevant iCentre.

9. Can I submit by post?

Yes, but you must ensure that you post you work to the appropriate iCentre.  Please visit www.anglia.ac.uk/icentre, for a list of iCentre addresses.

Your work MUST arrive on or before the deadline date and time and be accompanied by your bar-coded coversheet and a completed receipt.   We advise that you send your work via a registered/recorded mail service.

10. How do you inform the Academics my work is ready for collection?

Once the due date has passed, and all submissions have been logged on the University system, theiCentre staff will notify the Module Lecturer/ Module Tutor that the submissions are ready for collection.

If you have any questions about the above procedures please contact a member of the i Centre team by emailing: iCentre@anglia.ac.uk
