Celia Henson - Counsellor
I have worked at Anglia Ruskin University for nine years after experience of counselling in a Further Education college, two universities, a bereavement agency, an agency working with clients aged 12 to 23 and facilitating communication skills groups for students with English as a second language when living abroad. I am particularly interested in working with issues around cultural differences, with relationship difficulties and confidence and identity issues and in supporting students through their university experience. I have facilitated groups for students wanting to manage their stress and anxieties about assessed oral presentations and to increase their confidence for doing these. I started my professional life as a teacher.

Gemma Peck - Mental Health Adviser
I am a qualified mental health practitioner and psychotherapist, and have worked in a variety of mental health settings such as GP surgeries with adults experiencing common mental health problems, and in a secure hospital for people with severe and enduring difficulties. I have also worked with young people, providing individual counselling and running therapeutic groups. I feel strongly that mental health difficulties should not prevent people from pursuing their goals, and enjoy supporting students through the challenging and exciting world of University and further professional and personal development.

Stephen Barlow - Counsellor
I am a BACP accredited therapeutic counsellor with over 8 years experience of working with clients both in an organisational role and in private practice. In addition, I am an experienced group work facilitator and trainer and recently qualified as a clinical supervisor. I have worked for and/or provided training to many 'addictions'-based services including one of the most enduring HIV/AIDS organisations, Terrence Higgins Trust, where I set up and ran the substance misuse and addictions counselling/groupwork arm of their well-being department.
In September of 2009, I began working as a sessional therapist for SurvivorsUK, who specialise in 1-to-1 counselling and group work with male survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I have since provided them with in-house training and represented the organisation as a conference speaker on the subject of male rape.
I started in post at Anglia Ruskin University in January 2011, excited to be part of a team so committed to enhancing student emotional well-being through a variety of 1-2-1 and group interventions.
