Out of hours mental health emergencies

First point of contact

If you are already under mental health services, contact your out of hours CRISIS team or CAMDOC:

Essex

If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts with active plans or self harming behaviour, you can go to your local A&E department or call an ambulance - 999.

If you have seriously harmed yourself or attempted suicide then call an ambulance. Please give someone your contact number and take your mobile with you.

Samaritans

If you wish to speak to someone you can also contact the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90. The Samaritans provides confidential emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair.

On-going Support

You can access on-going support through your GP.

Anglia Ruskin University offers one-to-one support for students with a mental health adviser or a mentor and a counselling service.
