Are you struggling to cope with the stress of impending exams? You can turn up to one of the following workshops on the Cambridge campus:
Monday 14 May at 12:00-13:00 in HEL 307.
There is no need to book - simply just turn up.
The Counselling and Wellbeing Service is available to all students at Anglia Ruskin University and offers a free and confidential service to promote mental health and wellbeing.
You can talk in confidence to a professional counsellor about personal or university-related issues that are worrying you. These might range from minor concerns to major issues, from grief work to relationship difficulties, panic attacks, exam anxieties, stress etc.
The transition from home to university from perhaps living in your family to living on your own is often hard to manage, we are here to help. Coping with the unfamiliar, making new friends and new found independence often presents huge challenges. The counselling and wellbeing service is here to support you.
Many part time and mature students find juggling university life and family life difficult. Why not join a group with other similar students to share your experiences? Many students in the past have found these groups very valuable and sustaining during their time with us.
We run ‘Settling in’ sessions for all new students and provide stand alone workshops on a number of issues, such as how to manage stress and on-going groups that run throughout the year. e.g. Mature Student Groups, post- grad groups, What next? (for third year students) Anxiety management, Assertiveness training etc.
is also available with a counsellor or mental health adviser. This is for a wide range of issues from anxiety or depression to other diagnosed mental illness or just feeling low and needing someone to talk to. The aim of the service is to enable you to cope with any mental health issues during your time at University and help you to function more effectively. You may find it helpful to talk to someone who is not known to you personally. Don't agonise about whether your problem is serious enough. You do not need to be in crisis to come!
We promote health and wellbeing and run a number of workshops and events throughout the year often in conjunction with others, such as the Student Union and Sports and Active Lifestyles.
We work within the framework of BACP and UKCP code of ethics.
