Anglia Ruskin University is required to nominate one or more ‘Data Protection supervisors’ to oversee our compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

The role of the Data Protection Officer is to:

  • Develop and implement our Data Protection Policy.
  • Provide information and guidance on the processing of all personal data.
  • Produce ‘best practice’ guidance material for staff.
  • Deliver training to staff.
  • Process, co-ordinate and respond to all requests for information.
