Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)

PRES logo

PRES 2015 has now closed - many thanks to everyone who took the time and trouble to participate.

About the PRES

The PRES, which is run every two years, provides an opportunity for research students to tell us about the experience of studying for a research degree at Anglia Ruskin University. The responses are vital to understand the research student experience at our University and to highlight any future improvements that will enhance that experience.

It is a national survey that is run by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and we can compare our overall results against other institutions.  Obviously, the more people who complete the Survey, the more representative the results are.

The HEA required that each participant has a unique user name and password as a condition of us taking part in the survey.  This is to ensure that only the intended participants complete the PRES.  Before analysing or sharing any of the data, user name and password information will be permanently removed from the system and this will protect the anonymity and confidentiality of the responses.

For every complete response received, our University will donate £2, split between the following four charities which have been selected by the Anglia Ruskin Students' Union:

  • the Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre
  • J's Hospce, Chelmsford
  • Peterborough & Fenland Mind
  • Médecins Sans Frontières

Results from PRES 2009, 2011 and 2013 are below.
