Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a partnership between a company, a university and a nationally recruited graduate. They work together on a project central to your business needs that require the injection of knowledge, expertise and financial assistance.

KTPs helps our University exploit its knowledge and increase the industrial and commercial relevance of our teaching and research.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are supported by a government grant of £38,000 per year, complemented by financial contributions made by the partner company of £19,000 per year. These funds support the employment of high calibre graduates, who work full time at the company on projects designed to realise strategic advances. The company will receive over 25 days of academic consultancy and support each year of the programme.

The graduates are supervised jointly by senior company personnel and an academic from the university. In addition graduates receive formal training aimed at developing technical and managerial skills to develop them as business leaders for the future.
