Cycle to Work Day 2017

Sarah Johnson - September 11th, 15:36

Wednesday 13th September 2017 is the fifth national Cycle to Work Day, a day dedicated to encouraging adults across the UK to get on their bike and give cycle commuting a go for one day.

Chelmsford Cyclists

Essex County Council’s Sustainable Travel Planning team in partnership with Safer Essex Roads Partnership are organising led rides at 8am from specific points around Chelmsford into the City centre:

• The Angel pub – Broomfield
• The Green – Writtle
• Library – Galleywood
• B&Q - Chelmer Village.

The rides will be led by a Bikeability trained instructor who will be on hand to give tips and to help those less confident. The rides will mainly follow off road cycle routes.

You will need to register your place by emailing melissa.brice@essexhighways.com and stating the route you would like to join. Everyone who takes part will receive a free set of bungee handlebar lights.

Not so confident on two wheels? Don’t worry, the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP) provide Bikeability courses to help give riders more confidence on the road.

Visit the SERP website or email saferessexroads@essexhighways.org for information on local courses.

Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough Cyclists
