Participants needed! Age related changes in emotional processing.

Description:

¨ Study 1 employs the use of Electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive neuroimaging technique which records neural activity via electrodes placed on the scalp.
¨ If you agree to take part in the study you will also be asked to complete various self-report personality questionnaires, after which you will arrange to come in to Anglia Ruskin in order to complete the EEG session.
¨ Study 2 is a behavioural study, employing the same personality questionnaires and computer based tasks without the EEG.


Eligibility:

Study 1: You must be aged 40 + years and be in good physical health. You should have English as your first language, normal or corrected to normal vision, and no history of any skin conditions or neurological or psychological conditions such as epilepsy.

Duration: Up to 3 hours (30mins online + 2.5hrs Lab session)

Study 2: Aged over 18 with English as your first language, normal or corrected to normal vision.

Duration: Up to 1.5 hours (30mins online + 1hr Lab session) - 1.5 credits for ARU students

The study has received ethics approval by the Psychology Departmental Research Ethics Panel (DREP) and ratified by the Faculty Research Ethics Panel under the terms of Anglia Ruskin University’s Policy and Code of Practice for the Conduct of Research with Human Participants.
