The ever increasing demands on academic staff and the greater expectations of students for information, help and advice highlighted the need for the student advisor. Their function is to help the students along their university journey with assistance on issues such as module choice/change forms, extensions, advice on mitigation, result queries, clarification of University Rules and Regulations and referral to other student support areas of the University such as financial aid and advice, careers and counselling.
Student Advisors have longer office hours that are more accessible for the students and offer appointment only slots to allow students more time with them. They also make available a range of useful information and leaflets. The office hours are displayed in the respective Field Offices, LAIBS Reception in Chelmsford, and outside the Student Advisors' offices.
