New modules

The following is intended as a brief guide to direct proposers through their proposal. Full details can be found in Section 6 of the Senate Code of Practice on the Curriculum Approval and Review.

New modules - face-to-face delivery

Proposals for new modules for consideration through the Curriculum Revisions process are submitted through the completion of a Cover Paper - New Modules and a New Module Approval Form on which the module content is defined; this is the data capture form from which the Module record will be created in SITS. Please refer to the Notes of Guidance when completing the form. Both documents must be completed electronically and emailed to your Faculty Quality Assurance Officer (FQAO).

Please note that the Cover Paper - New Modules requires comments from your External Examiner. These must be provided along with the signatures of your Head of Department and Dean of Faculty before a new module can be considered for approval.

If you intend for your new module to be part of a course, please also see the ‘Revisions to Existing Courses’ page as additional forms must be completed.

New modules - blended/distance learning delivery

Proposals for new blended/distance learning modules for consideration through the Curriculum Revisions process are submitted on a Cover Paper - New Blended/Distance Learning Modules. Additional information is required to support the proposal including the consideration of learning materials on the VLE by the Faculty Learning and Teaching Advisor. Please complete and attach a New Module Approval Form on which the module content is defined, referring to the Notes of Guidance when completing the form. Both documents must be completed electronically and emailed to your Faculty Quality Assurance Officer (FQAO).

Please note that the Cover Paper - New Blended/Distance Learning Modules requires comments from your External Examiner. These must be provided along with the signatures of your Head of Department and Dean of Faculty before a new module can be considered for approval.

If you intend for your new module to be part of a course, please also see the ‘Revisions to Existing Courses’ page as additional forms must be completed.
