Visit Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom: Wild Ladies of Viramba

baboonsIn 2001, Oxford Scientific Film Productions were commissioned by the BBC to produce a film of ABRU's baboon research to be shown on the Natural World series in the Spring of 2004. The film will be distributed in the USA by Animal Planet. The working title of the film is "Wild Ladies of Viramba". Viramba is the name of the main study troop and is taken from the name of the river that runs through their range. The film features one of ABRUs volunteer research assistants, Holly Carroll, working with ABRUs research rangers Charles Kidung'ho and William Marwa. The baboon stars are Heshima, Kitovu and Kibeti. Guy Norton, Mama Asha, Alison Gunn and Angela Higginson also make appearances. Filming started in January 2002 and finished in March 2003 and the final product was "in the can" by May 2003.
